Indie the Snob

Indie has been wormed YAY, went and brought a wormer on friday and wormed her in the pouring rain, terrible weather haha but shes happy with her rug and nice and warm :D, she was really good to worm which was great, but then she walked off and i said come get your hardfeed but she wasnt interested, she likes to stick her head in it and tip it all out, cheeky gurl she is !! so i left her hardfeed on the ground along with her balelage and left, she ate it all so she must have been just being a snob to me !

today was terrible weather haha, the wind was very strong and it rained, so i adjusted her back straps and surcingles as the wind was blowing up her cover, she was very happy to get her feed and munched on her balelage as i left

hopefully now she will pile on the weight and i can start riding her shortly, will call the dentist out to check her teeth as im sure her teeth are bothering her

Yay the farrier came

well finally i got hold of a farrier (after much frustration of course), she came out yesterday (wednesday) , she pulled Indies Front shoes off and trimmed her feet, she is feeling alot better i think, and her feet are looking tidier !, not much else has been happening, shes still getting loads of feed, and getting most days time without her cover on and getting loads of cuddles and brushes, her weight is coming along slowly, which i must admit frustrates me as i want to RIDE her of course, oh well patience is the key

I have found that Indie is a pleasure to be around, she loves to follow me round the paddock and comes when i call her, she also has a fetish for Potato chips, Yes thats right, she will steal my chips if i dont watch out !! she loves to stand there and beg with those cute eyes and of course i cant help it so i have to give her some haha,

The only thing ive found is she doesnt like my other horse, dunno why, but when i lead both of them up together, she had her ears pinned back and i swear she was going to bite him, but he wasnt doing anything , its not like he was asking for it ,

she is still on her own and pretty much has the whole paddock to herself with my other horse grazes behind her, i think she likes it and i dont have to worry about her getting under the tape haha

New Update

lets see, cant say THAT much has happened since the last posting, shes just chilling in her paddock and eating as much as she can :P tehe, unfortunely the weight hasnt piled on as fast as i would have hoped, it is disapointing for me as i reawly want her fat so i can start schooling her ! oh well ill have to wait *sigh*

today (sunday) i brought her up as im so sick of looking at her filthy tail (full of crap) and her legs have dry crap on them, so its time for a scrub, she was really good considering it ws windy and it wasnt that warm, took a while to get her tail clean and same with her legs but she looks so much better :D YAY .

farrier should be coming this week fingers crossed, i find them so hard to get ahold of !!

indie has a new trick, its called ESCAPE artist haha, she just knows when the powers off and seems to have a good nick for going UNDER the tape, not when im around though haha, but remember the grass IS greener on the other side haha

Indie JUMPS

Today i decided what a wonderful day it was to spend more time with indie, she is in her own
paddock now (GREAT!) so i dont have to worry about charcoal stealing her feed and hay anymore, brought indie out, gave her a groom and found what looks like mudfever on her heels of her back legs, it could explain why shes so touchy about me picking up her back legs, will get onto it tomorrow and treat it. i was gonna lunge her but i thought nah i want to do something different, i want to expose her to as many different places as i can so hopefully when it comes to doing shows it wont be such a big deal, i took her to the jumps paddock , of course she was on her toes as shes never been here, but no big deal, she didnt do anything wrong, and i let her have a sniff and a look over and round the big scary jumps, even mentioned to her that " you ll be doing these jumps in no time ", she didnt seem to mind ! i decided ill put out a caveletti as i have not see her jump and dont really know what she can do yet. she walked over the caveletti without a care in the world :), then i asked her trot and she jumped it, nice and big and she didnt spook or anything, what a great start for her, she mite have a good future as a sjer !

just need to get ontop of my farrier, so hard to get ahold of one , not to mention they seem
to find excuses why they cant come out for weeks or months !! still debating weather to
pull indies shoes or not, kinda do want to but on the other hand im a bit worried about a crack
in her front foot, oh well ill talk to the farrier when one comes out and see what they think, would rather be safe then sorry

crappy weekend weather

*sigh* not much has happened since last posting, weather hasnt been very kind, have managed to spend some time with indie in her paddck and letting her have some time with her rug off, shes looking alot nicer and her coat has a shine to it YAY ! she has gone in with another horse called charcoal and she seems happy altho i fed indie, then left to feed my other horse and noticed charcoal had chased poor indie away and eaten all her feed ! i was furious (grrr). i gave her some yummy hay and she was munching down on that , and i got some pics of her so you can see how much better shes looking,

hope to start doing some more light lunging and get rid of some of that energy haha, and maybe in a week or two i will jump on ! cant wait

Indies first lunge session

well finally the weathers been kind for a change ! i decided todays the day she is going to start being worked, im so sick of her bouncing off the walls, so its time to start light exercise, i brought her in first today, tied her up, she had a good fidget but i told her to STAND STILL NOW, and to my surprise she didnt move a muscle, haha now thats how i like it :D. she is looking so much better, her weight is improving, and shes starting to BOUNCE and theres a spring in her step . she must be feeling great !!

took her to the sand roll pen and started to lunge her, it was fine til she decides to trot and all of a sudden its like BAM she jumps off the ground, throws her head around and generally jumps round like a ballerina, of course she got in big trouble, and had a few choice words for her.. which i wont say here but you can imagine what came out of my mouth ! told her very firmly to cut it out and get up, which she did, but of course shes all excited now, got her trotting round for a whle longer, then its time to change sides, of course she does the same thing on the other side,

cant say im too impressed !! after id lungd her she went back to miss lazy, tied her up and groomed her and she went back to normal, typical though !!

hopefully this week she will start to behave herself or else shes gonna have to deal with the consequences of her actions .......................
